Nollywood star Dayo Amusa has been elected the new National Vice President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) following the guild’s national election held in Benin City, Edo State.
Her victory was announced after a closely monitored voting process involving delegates from various state chapters of the guild.
Reacting to the outcome, Amusa described her emergence as recognition of her long-standing commitment to the AGN.
“My emergence as the AGN National Vice President is a testament to my unwavering dedication, leadership qualities, and longstanding commitment to the growth and integrity of the Actors Guild of Nigeria,” she said.
She added that the confidence reposed in her by members of the guild would drive her to strengthen the Secretariat and improve administrative efficiency.
“This achievement reflects the trust placed in me by our members, and I am certain that my creativity and administrative excellence will bring renewed strength to the Secretariat and elevate the guild’s operational standards.”
Amusa further stated that her tenure would focus on accountability, innovation, and service.
“As I take on this important national role, my tenure will be marked by transparency, innovation, and impactful service that will inspire both current and future members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.”
Dayo Amusa, who has been active in Nollywood since the early 2000s, is known for her work as an actress, filmmaker, and musician. She recently returned to full-time movie production after a brief break, assuring fans that her best work is still ahead.
Earlier in 2024, she welcomed her first child in the United States, a milestone she described as one of her greatest blessings.
Beyond her accomplishments in film, Amusa also serves as vice president of the Ijebu Pride Network, a socio-cultural organisation dedicated to promoting the heritage of Ijebuland and Remoland.
