Nigerian actress and media entrepreneur Mary Remmy Njoku has shared insights on transforming the country’s media and creative landscape, stressing that her success came from solving real problems rather than following trends.
Speaking on a panel at the Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive), Njoku reflected on her journey from acting to building a strong media brand. She explained that her transition was driven by the need to provide sustainable solutions within the creative industry.
“I got rich by solving problems,” she said. “If you want to blow right now, you can’t blow by doing good. You have to do something stupid or crazy right now. And it’s not fair on the very few people that are doing good.”
Njoku noted that the current digital space often rewards sensationalism, making it harder for creatives who prioritize quality and value-driven work. She emphasized that her mission has always been to create platforms that uplift talent and improve the overall narrative around Nigerian entertainment.
The IROKO TV co-founder added that lasting success comes from building solutions, not chasing fleeting attention.
