Nicki Minaj Pays $500,000 Judgment To Avoid Forced Sale of $20m Mansion

Nicki Minaj Rejects Grammy Board Invitation

Nicki Minaj has narrowly avoided having her $20 million (£14.8 million) Hidden Hills mansion put up for sale after settling a $500,000 (£370,000) default judgment against her.

The ruling stemmed from a lawsuit filed by security guard Thomas Weidenmuller, who accused the Starships rapper and her husband, Kenneth Petty, of assault during a 2019 concert in Frankfurt, Germany.

Confirming the development, Weidenmuller’s lawyer told Rolling Stone: “She has satisfied the judgment. It required us going to the one-yard line.”

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge, Cindy Pánuco, had been on the verge of ordering the sale of Minaj’s luxury property during a hearing on Thursday before the payment was confirmed.

Weidenmuller first filed the lawsuit in January 2022, alleging that Petty attacked him from behind after he intervened in a dispute involving a female security guard and Minaj backstage. The security guard said the alleged assault left him with severe facial injuries.

“I now have five plates in my jaw, and my jaw has not yet been fully reconstructed,” Weidenmuller stated, adding that donor bones had been inserted to preserve space for future implants.

Court filings revealed that Minaj had not responded to multiple payment requests, prompting Weidenmuller to seek enforcement of the judgment last October. At the time, the rapper’s eight-bedroom mansion was appraised at $20 million, with an outstanding mortgage of $13 million.

The application also described Nicki Minaj as a global music superstar with an estimated net worth of at least $150 million, noting that she was fully capable of paying the judgment despite earlier delays.
