Teniola Aladese Speaks on Security Fears in Lekki

Nollywood actress and producer Teniola Aladese has revealed that she no longer feels safe walking alone in her Lekki estate in Lagos, citing repeated encounters with unfamiliar men who follow her.

Speaking during an interview, the actress said walking was a regular, comfortable part of her lifestyle when she lived in Magodo, but her experience changed after relocating to Lekki.

“Walking was part of my routine in Magodo,” she said. “But here in Lekki, I’ve had several instances where strange men followed me.”

Aladese recalled a particular incident that left her deeply shaken and ultimately altered her daily habits.

“On this fateful day, it was God that saved me. Since then, I decided to buy and use a treadmill at home,” she added.

During the same interview, the actress also opened up about her personal life, including the emotional toll of losing her former boyfriend just months after their relationship ended. She admitted that the experience left her angry and confused, prompting difficult questions about faith, purpose, and loss before she eventually found peace.

Aladese also shared her perspective on relationships and personal independence, suggesting that many women would benefit from living alone before marriage. According to her, that phase helps individuals better understand their boundaries, preferences, and what they can realistically tolerate in a partner.
