Damilola Basirat Ayinde Marshal, daughter of Fuji icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (Kwam 1), has reacted to viral rumours linking her romantically with Nigerian singer Asake, firmly denying any relationship between them.
Damilola, who serves as Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, sparked speculation after sharing a photo with Asake from a public event, captioned “Mr Money and Mrs Money.”
The post was quickly picked up by blogs, triggering widespread assumptions of a romance.
Addressing the claims via her Instagram page, she made it clear that the rumours were unfounded and driven by online traffic chasing.
“Guys, that was my first time meeting him, so I took a picture. Do not believe blogs, they can do anything for traffic,” she wrote.
She clarified that the interaction was purely casual and that there is no romantic involvement between her and the singer.
Asake, who is known for keeping his private life out of the spotlight, has not publicly confirmed any relationship in recent years following reports that he parted ways with his former Gambian partner, Madame Mystique, in 2014.
With her response, Damilola Marshall has put the speculation to rest, calling out what she described as the routine exaggeration and fabrications that often trail celebrity interactions online.
