Founder and presiding pastor of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie has stirred conversation after sharing details of an extraordinary gift he once received.
During a recent sermon, the cleric disclosed that a young supporter presented him with a collection of luxury watches valued at $2 million.
“A young man gave me watches worth two million dollars. He loves watches, so he buys them for millions of dollars,” Ibiyeomie said.
“God Told Him to Give Them to Me”
According to the pastor, the gift was not random but prompted by what the giver described as divine direction.
“The young man said God told him to give the watches to me. He came and said he wanted to make a sacrifice. I asked if it was for God, and he said yes, God told him to give them to me.”
Ibiyeomie further claimed that the public has only seen a fraction of the collection.
“I haven’t even worn half of them. The ones people see online are just a small part. If they saw the rest, they would faint.”
Social Media Reactions
The revelation has sparked intense debate online, with many expressing shock at the staggering value of the gift, while others questioned the culture of high-value offerings within religious spaces.
Supporters, however, described the gesture as a personal act of faith and generosity, noting that giving in religious contexts is often framed as sacrifice and devotion.
As conversations continue to trend, the story once again highlights the intersection of faith, wealth, and public scrutiny in Nigeria’s religious landscape.
