Kelly Clarkson is set to close a major chapter of her career, as NBCUniversal has confirmed that The Kelly Clarkson Show will end after its current seventh season.
The announcement brings an end to weeks of speculation surrounding the future of the daytime talk show, with sources indicating that Kelly Clarkson’s contract was due to expire at the conclusion of the season. According to Deadline, the decision was communicated internally to staff and crew, with confirmation that the programme will not continue with a new host and will instead conclude entirely once Season 7 wraps.
The decision follows a challenging year for the Grammy-winning singer and television host. In the spring of last year, Clarkson took a temporary step back from the show to care for her children while their father was undergoing cancer treatment. He later passed away in August, a development that reportedly reshaped priorities behind the scenes.
Addressing the decision, Kelly Clarkson said stepping away from the show was necessary for personal reasons, particularly to focus on her children and family life.
Season 7 of The Kelly Clarkson Show will continue production as scheduled, with episodes expected to air through Fall 2026. While guest hosts will fill in on select dates, Clarkson will remain the primary host through the show’s final run.
The series debuted in 2019 and quickly established itself as a major force in daytime television. Over the course of its run, the show earned 24 Daytime Emmy Awards and built a strong digital presence, driven in part by popular segments such as Kellyoke.
