Nollywood actress Mary Remmy Njoku has left fans amused after questioning the obsession with Lamborghinis, saying she doesn’t understand why people buy the luxury sports cars, especially in a city like Lagos.
In a late-night Instagram post, the actress blamed her insomnia for the random thought, wondering where exactly owners get the chance to enjoy driving vehicles built for speed.
“Insomnia is dangerous. I’ve been lying awake for hours, and somehow my brain has decided that tonight’s biggest mystery is… Lamborghinis.
“I genuinely don’t get the hype.
“In Lagos… where exactly are you people driving these things? From one speed bump to the next? Into traffic? To admire Third Mainland Bridge from a very low angle? 😅 What am I missing? Maybe I’m just exhausted.”
She didn’t stop there.
Mary jokingly suggested that maybe she had misunderstood the purpose of owning the luxury cars.
“Maybe I’m the silly one for assuming Lamborghinis are meant to be driven fast. Maybe the whole point is just to look fast while sitting in traffic. 😂”
The lighthearted post quickly sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians agreeing that Lagos traffic hardly gives supercars the chance to show what they’re capable of. Others argued that people buy Lamborghinis for the prestige, exclusivity and status that come with the brand rather than the opportunity to hit top speed.
