National protests against the withdrawal of fuel subsidy lasted for one day before Organized Labor agreed to put the planned strike action on hold.
Festus Osifo, the president of the Trade Union Congress, claims that President Bola Tinubu and the Labour leaders had fruitful conversations that resulted in agreements to address some of the concerns brought up during the meeting.
The strike has been put on hold as a result.
Following a meeting with the Federal Government in which no constructive adjustments or compromises were made, the Nigeria Labour Congress said the mass demonstration will continue.
CREEBHILLS had reported that the Nigeria Labour Congress declared in a press statement on Tuesday that it will carry out the first plans for the nationwidewide mass demonstration.
The NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero noted that the outcome of the meeting with the government did not yield positive any changes or concessions that would alter their course of action.
They stressed that they remained steadfast in their commitment to representing the Nigerian workers’ and people’s interests and desires.
