Nigerian superstar Ruger, whose real name is Michael Adebayo Olayinka, recently spoke about the challenges he faced during a period of self-doubt in 2023.
He confessed that he reached a point where he became unmotivated and no longer felt like his true self.
According to Ruger, this was due to being surrounded by the wrong people whose negative influence affected his identity.
Taking to his Instagram story, Ruger wrote:
“2023, I slacked. I had the wrong people around me and I let them affect my energy. It got to a point that I didn’t feel like ruger anymore. Anyways, I’ve left each and everyone of them in 2023. In 2024, I am a mad, dangerous, selfish and loving man.”
In a separate story, Ruger sparked reactions when he opened up about losing one eye and shared throwback photos showcasing his journey.
The Jonzing World artist, who recently released his debut album ‘Ru The World,’ shared a video on his Instagram page that featured a compilation of old pictures without an eye patch, contrasting with his more recent photos where he wore an eye patch and dark shades.
Ruger finally revealed that he had lost his eye.
Captioning the video, he wrote:
“All before I lost one of my eyes 🙏🏾
I had very vivid dreams of being who I am today right from a very young age. I thank God for taking me to where I’m supposed to be in life. And I appreciate everyone that has taken part in this journey I love you all ❤️
RU THE WORLD 🌍 OUT NOW!!!!”
