Afrobeats sensation Bella Shmurda is contemplating a departure from his signature voice to explore a new sound that could attract a different fanbase.

In an interview with Just Vibes, Shmurda expressed his interest in experimenting with a sound that resonates with a fresh audience.

The ‘Cash App’ hitmaker said, “I know I have a unique voice but I don’t want to be using it anymore. I want to try a new sound.”

Since rising to fame in 2020 with his breakout track ‘Vision 2020’, Bella Shmurda has stayed true to his unique sound.

However, he now seems eager to evolve and adapt to new trends in the music industry. This move echoes a growing trend among Nigerian artists who have altered their sounds to broaden their appeal beyond local borders, drawing both praise and criticism.

Renowned artists like Wizkid, Davido, Rema, Fireboy DML, and Ayra Starr have all dabbled in sound changes to capture the attention of global listeners.

Wizkid’s ‘Sounds From The Other Side’ and Davido’s ‘Son Of Mercy’ EP are notable examples of this shift, with varying degrees of success.

As the music landscape continues to evolve, it will be intriguing to see how Shmurda navigates this potential transformation in his own musical journey.
