Rivers Crisis: Edison Ehie Alleges N5 Billion Bribe Offer to Impeach Governor Fubara

Edison Ehie Alleges N5 Billion Bribe Offer to Impeach Governor Fubara

Edison Ehie, the Chief of Staff (CoS) to the suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has claimed he was offered ₦5 billion to orchestrate his principal’s impeachment.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Ehie revealed that he has evidence of the bribe offer stored on his phone, which he has also printed and distributed as a precaution.

“I can also open my phone to show you, in the beginning of October 2023, when they approached me with a bribe of ₦5 billion. It is here in my phone,” Ehie said.

The alleged bribe was offered during his tenure as Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Ehie also dismissed allegations that he was behind the October 30, 2023, bombing of the Rivers Assembly complex on Governor Fubara’s orders.

Former Rivers State Head of Service George Nwaeke made the accusation during a press conference last Friday.
