Sean Kingston was subsequently remanded back into federal custody subsequent to his failure to satisfy the financial requirements of his bond.
The vocalist of “Beautiful Girls” is presently anticipating sentencing following his recent adjudication for fraudulent activities.
As reported by WSVN TV, the legal representatives for Kingston conceded during a judicial proceeding yesterday that the artist was incapable of remitting the $100,000 (£76,000) bond.
In response, the presiding judge mandated his return to incarceration at the Federal Detention Centre in Miami, where he was to remain until such time as he could procure the requisite funds or, in the absence of such, until his sentencing hearing scheduled for 11 July.
TMZ has reported that Sean Kingston’s attorney subsequently declared that the necessary funds had been secured, allowing the artist to return to home confinement.
In the previous month, both Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, were adjudicated guilty on charges of wire fraud and theft.
Law enforcement authorities alleged that they had unlawfully acquired over $1 million (£760,000) worth of luxury goods – including a Cadillac Escalade, an oversized television, and high-end timepieces – without fulfilling payment obligations.
Sean Kingston and Turner were found culpable late last month. While Kingston was placed under house arrest with a bond, Turner – who possesses a similar history of convictions and was characterized by the judge as the “operator, fixer, and accountant” orchestrating the scheme – was taken into custody.
