In a recent interview, Manchester United winger Antony credited former manager Erik ten Hag for playing a key role in his development as a player.
Antony had the opportunity to work with Ten Hag both at Manchester United and Ajax.
The Brazilian international transferred to Man United from Ajax for £85 million in 2022.
Reflecting on his time with Ten Hag, he expressed his gratitude towards the Dutchman for his guidance and support in both the Netherlands and England, stating that he is indebted to him for helping him become the player he is today.
“Erik ten Hag is a coach I’m very grateful to,” Antony told ESPN.
“He helped me a lot in the Netherlands, and in England too, even though the opportunities didn’t come the way I wanted to.
“But that is the coach’s choice, I don’t hold any grudges or anything”.
“On the contrary, I’m very grateful for everything he’s done with me, for all the conversations too.
“He’s a coach who will certainly be in this story because he helped me a lot.”
Antony is currently on a six-month loan at Spanish LaLiga club Real Betis
