The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha festivities.
The announcement was made on Monday through a statement issued by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.
In the statement, the Minister congratulated all Muslims in Nigeria and the Diaspora, urging them to reflect the core values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him) during the celebration.
He also encouraged Nigerians to use the Eid period as an opportunity to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity across the country.
“The minister assured Nigerians that the people-oriented reforms and initiatives being implemented under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration are designed to put Nigeria back on the path of progress.”
While wishing the Muslim Ummah a joyful Eid-ul-Adha, Tunji-Ojo called on citizens to support the present administration in its mission to restore the glory of Nigeria as a great and united nation.
