BREAKING: Rotimi Amaechi Dumps APC, Accuses Party and INEC of Plot to Hijack 2027 Elections

Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has officially announced his exit from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a significant shift in Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Amaechi made the revelation during the unveiling of the interim executive of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja on Wednesday, confirming that he resigned from the APC on Tuesday night.

In the interview that followed, Amaechi criticized the ruling party and accused it of colluding with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to manipulate the outcome of the 2027 elections.

He also expressed surprise that the APC had yet to expel him despite repeated warnings not to send him invitations to party meetings.

When asked why he chose not to align with the current administration or continue supporting the APC, Amaechi explained that his move wasn’t simply about political rivalry — it was about rescuing the country.

“No, it’s not about changing the government. If it were just about changing the government, then there would be no need to do so. It’s about changing Nigeria.”

He painted a grim picture of the country’s current state:

“Nigeria is completely destroyed. People can’t eat. People can’t buy food. There’s no money to buy food. Everything is gone. Inflation is at its peak. And the federal government is busy going around trying to hijack the election. INEC is helping them to hijack the election.”

Amaechi emphasized that what Nigeria needs now is not just another political party but a nationwide movement driven by the people themselves.

“No, no, no. What must happen here is that we must start not just a party, but a movement. It must be a movement that brings Nigerians to, on their own, take over government, not us,” he declared.

His departure from the APC and strong stance against the current political structure signals growing tension within the country’s ruling class, as opposition voices gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
