“One of the Kindest Souls I’ve Ever Known” – Ubi Franklin Mourns Death of Beloved Sister After Battle with Cancer

Chioma Allegedly Fires Ubi Franklin as her Manager, Ignores him on his Birthday

Nigerian music executive and talent manager Ubi Franklin is mourning the painful loss of his sister, who passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer. The founder of Triple MG shared the heartbreaking news on Saturday, July 13, via an emotional post on social media.

“Today death visited me and took one of the most precious gifts life ever handed to me, my sister,” he wrote. “The one who birthed the Ubi Franklin you all know today.”

Franklin, 38, revealed that his sister played a pivotal role in his life and career after their father died in 2004, during his days as a law student at Madonna University.

“I had to go stay with my sister and her husband in Abuja. That trip changed everything. It was the beginning of my journey,” he recalled.

He described her as his “backbone,” “rock,” and “biggest cheerleader,” adding that she was the first person to ever call him her “personal assistant,” a title she continued to use affectionately until her final days.

According to Franklin, he had been by her side from April through early July. She was later moved to the ICU on July 12. Despite rushing to Abuja after receiving a call from his siblings, she tragically passed away while he was airborne.

“This is one of the biggest losses of my life,” he wrote. “When I landed in Abuja at 4:20 am, she had already passed but it was hidden from me till 4 pm.”

Although visibly shaken by the loss, the father of four expressed gratitude for the impact she had on his life and the lives of others.

“Thankful that I got to know her, to walk with her, to be shaped by her… I know I am not alone in my grief.”

Ubi Franklin ended his post with a tearful tribute:

“This hurts deeply. It has left a scar in my heart. But I will forever love you. And I know… you’re in a better place.”

As of press time, the name of his late sister has not been publicly disclosed.
