“It’s Insane!” — Rihanna Says Her Sons Are Already Obsessed with Music
Global pop icon Rihanna has opened up about her sons’ growing love for music, revealing that both RZA and Riot are already showing signs they might be following in their famous parents’ footsteps.
Speaking at the Los Angeles premiere of her latest film Smurfs, where she stars as Smurfette, Rihanna shared that her children with rapper A$AP Rocky have developed a deep interest in music and instruments.
“Both of them love music,” the Umbrella singer told E! News. “It’s insane.”
The multi-talented artist, who is currently expecting her third child, joked about not knowing which parent the boys take after more when it comes to their musical instincts.
“I don’t know who they get it from more. I’m like, ‘Is that me or is that you, Rocky?’”
According to the 37-year-old superstar, Riot, who is 23 months old, seems particularly drawn to freestyling, suggesting an early affinity with A$AP Rocky’s signature rap style.
“Riot, he likes to freestyle,” she revealed. “So, that’s definitely a Rocky thing.”
Beyond motherhood, Rihanna has also taken on a creative role in Smurfs, not only voicing the iconic blue character Smurfette but also producing and recording original music for the animated film.
The Grammy winner shared that her decision to join the project was deeply personal — she wanted to make something her children would treasure.
“I want them to have fun when they’re watching this,” she said. “Something that they will go back to emotionally throughout their whole lives.”
“I’ve carried the emotions of Smurfs even from a little girl. I’ve always loved Smurfs. You never fall out of love with The Smurfs once you’re hooked.”
