Amaechi Blasts APC as ‘Party of Failure’ in Resignation Letter

Rotimi Amaechi Slams Nigerians for Inaction, Quits APC

Former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), branding the ruling party as a symbol of failure, pain, and anguish.

In a resignation letter dated July 1, 2025, and addressed to the APC Chairman in Ward 8, Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Amaechi declared that the APC no longer represents the ideals that once inspired hope in Nigerians.

Citing his reasons, the former presidential aspirant said his decision followed wide consultations and a desire to partner with patriotic Nigerians to “rescue the nation.”

“The APC has derailed from the lofty ideals that birthed its formation,” he wrote. “It can no longer inspire hope for a greater Nigeria.”

Amaechi further described the APC as a party that has lost touch with the people, showing no empathy for their struggles.

He has now aligned himself with a coalition of opposition forces aiming to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
