Kelly Clarkson sells music catalogue to investment firm

New Song: Kelly Clarkson – You For Christmas

Pop superstar Kelly Clarkson has sold a portion of her music catalogue—including hits like Since U Been Gone, Because of You, Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You), and Behind These Hazel Eyes—to HarbourView Equity Partners, an investment firm specializing in entertainment assets.

The 43-year-old singer shared that her music is deeply personal and represents her life journey. “Knowing these songs will continue to be heard and discovered by new generations means everything to me,” Clarkson said in a statement, expressing gratitude to HarbourView for valuing the catalogue.

Sherrese Clarke Soares, founder and CEO of HarbourView, praised Clarkson’s legacy, calling her a “one-of-a-kind artist” whose music has shaped pop culture. She emphasized that the deal aligns with HarbourView’s goal of investing in iconic entertainment content.

Kelly Clarkson, who rose to fame as the first-ever winner of American Idol in 2002, recently revealed on the Not Gonna Lie podcast that she didn’t realize the show was a televised competition until her third audition. At the time, she said, she was just trying to make ends meet.

“We were just kids trying to pay our bills,” she recalled, noting she was only 19 and financially struggling when she auditioned.
