Former Kaduna Central senator Shehu Sani has taken a swipe at the Presidency’s description of President Bola Tinubu’s trip to Europe as a “working vacation.”
Reacting in a post on X, the outspoken former lawmaker wrote:
“I understand the word ‘working’. I understand the word ‘vacation’. The sentence ‘working vacation’ is something else.”
His comment comes after the Presidency, through Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, announced that Tinubu departed Abuja on Thursday, September 4, to begin his 2025 annual leave.
According to the statement, the leave will last 10 working days, during which the President will spend time in France and the United Kingdom before returning to Nigeria.
The phrase “working vacation” has since generated buzz online, with many Nigerians echoing Sani’s view and questioning the choice of words used by the Presidency.
