Lead pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC), Bolaji Idowu, was spotted at the Gino World Jollof Festival in Lagos, where he showed up to support celebrity chef Hilda Baci in her latest Guinness World Record attempt.
In a video shared online on Friday, Pastor Idowu was seen speaking words of encouragement to Hilda before giving her a warm hug — a moment that left the chef visibly emotional and teary-eyed.
Hilda is currently attempting to cook the world’s largest pot of jollof rice at the festival, which is being held at Eko Hotel Car Park B, Lagos. The event, originally scheduled for Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, is expected to welcome over 20,000 registered attendees.
To achieve the record, Hilda is using a custom-made pot with a 22,619-litre capacity, aiming to fill it up to 80 percent with around 250 bags of rice.
This is not her first attempt at making history. In May 2023, Hilda cooked non-stop for 93 hours and 11 minutes, earning the Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking marathon. However, her record was later surpassed by Irish chef Alan Fisher, who set a new mark of 119 hours and 57 minutes.
