2027: Atiku, Obi Will Still Be Defeated Even If They Run Together – Oshiomhole

Former Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has ruled out any chance of victory for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi in the 2027 general election.

His statement follows growing speculation that both politicians may form a joint ticket under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the next polls.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Oshiomhole argued that history has already shown that both Atiku and Obi cannot defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), whether they contest together or separately.

He said: “Did Atiku and Obi not run together before and contested against APC? You can throw any number you want to throw but the point is that when these two ran together, they were loudly defeated by APC. So why are you suggesting if the two, when they did before, what happened?

“You are the one who is recycling history. They have a history of being defeated together, and they have a history of being defeated apart. They ran together. They were defeated. They ran separately, they were defeated. If they come back together, very good. They will still be defeated,” Oshiomhole said.
