Singer-songwriter Lorde has cancelled her scheduled concert in Luxembourg at the last minute after suffering from severe food poisoning.
The “What Was That” hitmaker — whose real name is Ella Yelich-O’Connor — was set to perform at the Rockhal on Sunday night as part of her Ultrasound World Tour.
Taking to her Instagram Stories just hours before showtime, Lorde expressed regret over the cancellation, explaining that she was “too sick to play.”
“Luxembourg I’m so sorry to have to tell you that I came down with ruthless food poisoning last night and am still too sick to play for you today,” she wrote. “I’ve been resting all day hoping I’d be well enough but I can hardly stand up and you deserve more.”
The 29-year-old star apologized to fans and ticket holders, describing the situation as “beyond gutting,” especially since it was her first-ever show in Luxembourg and the first night of the Ultrasound EU leg with French musician Oklou.
She added that she’s working with promoters to reschedule the concert and thanked fans for their understanding.
Lorde, who released her fourth studio album Virgin in June, is expected to continue her tour in Paris on Monday night, health permitting.
