Al Ittihad striker Karim Benzema has set the football world buzzing after hinting at the possibility of an emotional return to Real Madrid.
Benzema, who departed the Spanish giants as a free agent in July 2023 to begin a new chapter in the Middle East, enjoyed a trophy-laden 14-year spell with Los Blancos—lifting multiple titles and winning the prestigious Ballon d’Or.
In a recent interview with AS, the 36-year-old admitted that turning down a comeback would be difficult, especially if Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez were to reach out personally.
“If Florentino is still there, it could happen, it could happen,” Benzema said.
“I talk to him and it’s possible. I’m a Real Madrid fan. I feel it in my soul. Madrid is still my city… we’ll see what happens.”
His comments have reignited speculation about a potential reunion with the club he still considers home.
Benzema remains under contract with Al Ittihad until June 2026, but his latest remarks suggest the story between him and Real Madrid may not be over just yet.
