Music producer Benny Blanco’s mother, Sandra Levin, was reportedly forced into hiding after intruders broke into her Los Angeles home on Friday night.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred around 9:30pm in the Studio City area. Law enforcement sources told NBC Los Angeles that Levin was inside the house when two masked men dressed in dark clothing entered through a sliding glass door.
The LAPD said Levin ran upstairs and locked herself inside a bathroom connected to a bedroom as the intruders made their way through the house. She reportedly heard them come upstairs and open a bedroom door. When she peered out slightly, the men spotted her and immediately fled the scene.
It remains unclear whether the intruders were armed. No injuries were reported, and nothing was taken from the home.
The frightening incident comes less than two months after Blanco married singer and actress Selena Gomez in a star-studded wedding in Santa Barbara on 27 September. The ceremony, attended by around 170 guests, included Levin, Blanco’s father Andrew Levin, and several high-profile celebrity friends.
Blanco is a renowned producer and songwriter known for crafting major hits for artists such as Justin Bieber, Rihanna, and Ed Sheeran.
