Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, also known as Grace Nation Liberation City, Chris Okafor, has publicly apologised to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala following days of controversy that resulted in her arrest and subsequent release by the Nigeria Police.
Okafor issued an apology in a viral video during a church sermon, acknowledging that mistakes had been made while disputing several allegations levelled against him.
“We’re not joining issues. Mistakes have been made in the past, and I tender apologies to everybody.
But everything that was said is not true; there are so many lies in most of the things said. But in all, I am sorry to everyone I have offended. To Doris Ogala, I also say sorry. I apologise to everyone I have offended,” the cleric said.
He further stated his willingness to make amends, adding, “Once again, I repeat, I am ready to make restitution to anyone, any lady I have offended. I am sorry, forgive me. I am not perfect. I have never been perfect.”
The dispute between Ogala and Okafor began after the actress accused the pastor of breaching an alleged promise to marry her.
Through her legal representatives, Synergy Law Partners, Ogala demanded N1 billion in damages, citing emotional distress, reputational harm, and financial loss.
Ogala further alleged that the relationship, which reportedly began in 2017, involved repeated assurances of marriage and introductions to family members, claims that later became the subject of public dispute.
The matter has generated widespread reactions on social media, with calls for restraint as legal processes continue.
