Pop star Britney Spears has publicly criticised her family for allegedly excluding her from their Christmas Day celebrations.
The singer reacted after her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, shared a festive family photo featuring their mother, Lynne Spears, Jamie Lynn’s husband and children, and Britney’s son, Sean Preston.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Britney posted a sarcastic message aimed at her relatives.
“Merry late Christmas to my beautiful family who have never disrespected me, harmed me, ever done anything completely unacceptable or caused unbelievable trauma,” she wrote, adding that she was “so so sorry” she missed Christmas but would “definitely show up and surprise” them soon.
She also gave a special mention to her niece, Ivey, saying she wished she could hold her.
Reports from People magazine indicated that Britney Spears spent Christmas with her other son, Jayden James Federline. The singer shares both sons with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.
Britney Spears has remained largely estranged from her family since the end of her 13-year conservatorship in November 2021, though she has recently suggested her relationship with her sons has improved.
As of the time of reporting, representatives for Jamie Lynn Spears have not responded to Britney’s comments.
