Beyoncé’s Father Says Money Has Never Been Her Motivation Despite Billionaire Status

Despite reports that Beyoncé has joined the billionaire ranks, her father, Mathew Knowles, has said financial success has never been the driving force behind the global superstar’s career.

Beyoncé reportedly ended 2025 on Forbes’ billionaire list, but Knowles insists her focus has always been on excellence and her relationship with fans rather than wealth accumulation.

“I’ve never heard Beyoncé ever talk about money,” Knowles said. “It’s always been, ‘How can I make my fans happy? How can I be the best at what I’m doing?’”

According to him, her fortune was a by-product of success, not the goal. “Her money came with the success, but that has never been a goal of hers. And I love that about her,” he added.

Beyoncé’s recent financial milestone has been linked to the huge success of her Renaissance World Tour and Cowboy Carter concerts, as well as her growing business ventures, including SirDavis whisky and Cécred haircare.

The achievement places her among an exclusive group of musician billionaires such as Bruce Springsteen, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and her husband, Jay-Z. However, Knowles stressed that the milestone does not define her.

“That’s just not Beyoncé. That’s not who she is,” he said, noting that the singer remains committed to her craft, her fans and giving back to the community.

Meanwhile, Knowles has launched Destiny’s Child: Iconic Reimagined Tribute, a live performance series celebrating the legendary girl group. The show features musicians and violinists performing classics like Bootylicious, Survivor and Independent Women, alongside personal stories shared by Knowles. He added that plans are underway to take the tribute global and expand the concept to honour other major urban artists.
