American singer and television personality Ray J has accused reality star Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, of lying about their involvement in the release of the tape that first brought global attention to the Kardashian family.
According to comments reported by TMZ, Ray J claimed that both Kardashian and Jenner “completely lied about everything” in recent legal declarations in which they denied participating in the tape’s release.
The singer alleged that he personally attended a meeting with Kardashian, Jenner and executives from Vivid Entertainment, the company that distributed the footage, where discussions were held regarding a deal connected to the tapes.
Ray J further claimed that he and Kardashian each received $400,000 for three tapes that were recorded. According to him, two of the recordings were filmed in Cabo San Lucas, while another was shot in Santa Barbara.
He also alleged that Jenner encouraged the Santa Barbara recording to be made “dirtier,” a claim that contradicts the long-standing position of Kardashian and Jenner that they had no role in the tape’s release.
Ray J said the situation has continued to damage his reputation and expressed concern about how the narrative might affect his children in the future.
He noted that he now has both a son and a daughter and does not want them to grow up believing that he intentionally harmed someone or maliciously released explicit content.
The accusations come amid an ongoing legal dispute between the parties. In October, Kardashian and Jenner filed a lawsuit accusing Ray J of defamation. In response, Ray J filed a countersuit alleging they breached a settlement agreement that prohibited any of the parties from publicly discussing the tape.
Ray J has also received public support from his mother, Sonja Norwood, who defended him on social media and questioned who was responsible for the tape’s release if Kardashian and Jenner were not involved.
