World football governing body, FIFA, has found the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Congolese Association Football Federation (CFA) guilty of separate infractions during the 2026 World Cup play-off match played in November 2025.
According to Sports Village Square, FIFA noted that Nigeria was penalized for a breach relating to order and security at matches.
The infraction specifically involved the throwing of objects by spectators during the encounter.
Following the disciplinary review, the NFF has been fined 1,000 Swiss Francs.
