Akpabio Declares Three Senate Seats Vacant, Sets Stage for Key By Elections

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has urged Nigerians to embrace peace, tolerance, and mutual respect, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.

The Senate President delivered the message in his Easter greeting, which was conveyed through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh.

In his message, Akpabio encouraged Christians to reflect on the values of love and peaceful coexistence during the Easter celebration.

He said: “On behalf of my family, my constituents, the Senate, and the National Assembly, I extend my warmest Easter greetings to all Christians in Nigeria and around the world.”

Akpabio added: “As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, let us reflect on the values of love, peace, and unity that his message embodies.”

He also called on citizens to work collectively toward building a better nation.

“Let us work together to build a nation where everyone can live together in peace, harmony and prosperity.”

Addressing the country’s current challenges, particularly insecurity, the Senate President urged Nigerians to remain patient and committed to unity and national stability.

He assured citizens that the situation would improve with collective effort.

“I want to assure Nigerians that we will overcome these difficulties through collective efforts, understanding and prayers.”

Akpabio further noted that the nation’s security forces are actively working to address the challenges.

“The Armed Forces and all security agencies have been working relentlessly to tame the tide.”

He also expressed sympathy for victims of violence across the country, particularly those affected by recent attacks in Jos.

“I sympathise with families affected by the mindless attacks by terrorists and bandits across the country, especially the recent killings in Jos. I pray that the Almighty God will have mercy on those who lost their lives; and console the bereaved families.”

He concluded by praying for peace and stability in Nigeria, expressing hope that the country will overcome its ongoing security challenges.
