Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay has officially returned to acting months after her separation from music star 2Baba.
The actress shared a video from a movie set on Instagram on Thursday, expressing excitement about reconnecting with the craft she says has always been deeply personal to her.
According to Annie, stepping back onto a film set reminded her why she first fell in love with acting and storytelling.
“There’s something so beautiful about finding your way back to the things that make your soul come alive,” she wrote.
“Being back on set, creating stories, becoming different characters, and doing what I truly love reminds me of why I started this journey in the first place.”
The 41-year-old actress added that acting will always remain special to her and described the moment as a fresh start in her career.
“Grateful for growth, new beginnings, and every opportunity to keep telling stories through film. The magic is still there… and this is only the beginning again,” she added.
Annie’s return to Nollywood comes months after her highly publicized separation from 2Baba dominated entertainment headlines.
Earlier this year, the actress wiped her Instagram page shortly after news of the breakup became public before later returning with an emotional appreciation message thanking family, friends, and supporters who stood by her during the difficult period.
In January 2025, 2Baba publicly announced that he and Annie had separated and filed for divorce after years of marriage.
Although the singer initially claimed his Instagram account had been hacked, he later confirmed the separation himself in a follow-up video.
Since the split, Annie has slowly resumed public appearances and social activities.
One of her first major public outings after the separation was a visit to actress Regina Daniels and her husband Ned Nwoko in Abuja, where videos online showed her smiling and interacting warmly with the couple.
Annie and 2Baba got married in 2012 and have two daughters together.
Their relationship remained one of the most talked-about celebrity marriages in Nigeria, especially after Annie openly discussed marital struggles and emotional challenges on the Netflix reality series Young, Famous & African.
