After his successful re-election on November 11, Governor Duoye Diri of Bayelsa state was sworn in for a second term in office.
The oath-taking ceremony took place at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in the state capital of Yenagoa, precisely at 1:58 p.m.
The State Chief Judge, Justice Matilda Ayemieye, administered the oath of office to Governor Diri and his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
The event was attended by notable figures such as APC national chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, and his wife Patience Jonathan.
The occasion was marked by the presence of thousands of elegantly dressed citizens who gathered in Yenagoa to express their gratitude to God for Governor Diri’s victory in the November 11, 2023 election.
Furthermore, former Senate Presidents Bukola Saraki and Adolfus Wabara, who now serves as the Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, as well as other national and state leaders of the party, were also in attendance.
