Manchester United winger Antony has been cleared of domestic violence allegations by Brazilian police, following a year-long investigation prompted by claims made by his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin.
The allegations included accusations of domestic violence, threat, and bodily injury. Despite police reports filed in both Brazil and England, Antony consistently maintained his innocence.
He even gave an emotional interview on live television denying any wrongdoing and expressing confidence in the truth coming to light.
During the investigation, Antony took a leave of absence from Manchester United, missing three Premier League matches at the start of the 2023/24 season.
The case, handled confidentially, ultimately concluded without an indictment due to lack of evidence. Antony’s legal team confirmed the investigation had been closed in a statement to talkSPORT.
The Brazilian Public Security Secretariat also noted that further details would only be available through the courts due to the confidential nature of the case.
