American rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, recently revealed that he declined a $3 million offer to perform at a rally for Donald Trump at Madison Square Garden in New York.
During an interview on ‘The Breakfast Club’, 50 Cent explained that he turned down the opportunity due to his aversion to politics and its contentious nature. He expressed that he prefers to stay away from political involvement as it often leads to conflicts and disagreements.
Additionally, 50 Cent mentioned that he was also offered a similar sum to perform his song “Many Men” at the Republican National Convention, but he refused that offer as well.
“I didn’t even go far… I didn’t talk to them about that kinda stuff. I’m afraid about politics.
“It’s because when you do get involved in it, no matter how you feel, someone passionately disagrees with you,” he said.
Despite previously making positive remarks about Trump and noting that Black men can relate to him due to their shared experiences with the justice system, 50 Cent remains hesitant to become directly involved in political matters.
