50 Cent is following through on his promise in a major way, donating a reported $500,000 to organisations supporting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
The rapper-turned-mogul made the pledge in connection with the Netflix docuseries ‘Sean Combs: The Reckoning,’ and has now confirmed that the funds have been distributed to several non-profits.
Taking to social media, 50 Cent emphasized that the move was deliberate and aligned with his earlier commitment to give back to those directly affected.
“I said I would donate proceeds to domestic violence and to sexual assault victims, and I keep my word. I didn’t say where I would make the donations, and I like Shreveport.”
The donations have been directed toward organisations in Shreveport, a city where the rapper has been actively investing and building community ties in recent years.
While the gesture has been widely praised, it also comes amid renewed attention on the controversial legacy of Sean Combs, the subject of the docuseries. Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence on two charges related to transportation for prostitution.
The development adds another layer to the long-standing tension between 50 Cent and the Bad Boy Records founder, who have had a well-documented rivalry over the years.
Despite that backdrop, the focus remains on the philanthropic impact of the donation, with the initiative highlighting support for victims and reinforcing the rapper’s commitment to using his platform for a broader cause.
