Chief Bode George, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has advised former vice president Atiku Abubakar to abandon his plans to contest in 2027.
George pointed out that Atiku has been running for president since 1993 and was the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election.
Speaking to reporters in Ikoyi, George urged Atiku to step back from the presidential race after 31 years and instead become an elder statesman for the future.
In a widely circulated video on social media,Bode George mentioned that Atiku would be 81 years old by 2027.
“My advice to Atiku is this. You will be 81 years old in 2027, and you have been contesting for the presidency since 1993. It is time for you to calm down and act like an elder. Take it easy and leave everything for posterity.”
