The popular American rapper Wiz Khalifa has shared his belief that couples should spend at least 10 years dating before getting married.
He believes this extended period of dating allows couples to really get to know themselves and their families before making such a big commitment.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Club Shay Shay podcast, Wiz said, “People should date for 10 years before getting married because that’s long enough to know the person, their family, and who you’re going to deal with when you move in together.”
When asked whether couples should cohabit before marriage or wait until after they are wed, the 37-year-old said: “It depends on the situation and the circumstances. Some people move in right away and still need time to figure it out.
“If you don’t move in right away, you’ll learn that there’s one version of the person when you’re not sharing things and a different version when you are.”
Wiz Khalifa was previously married to model Amber Rose in 2013, the same year they had a son together. However, their marriage ended in divorce in 2016 due to irreconcilable differences.
Currently, Wiz is in a relationship with his girlfriend Aimee Aguilar, with whom he recently welcomed a daughter. They have been together for five years.
