Actress Dayo Amusa has accused Facebook user Esther Ijewere of copying and reposting her message about Asake without giving proper credit.
Ijewere took to Facebook on Saturday to publicly call out the actress, writing:
“Dear Dayo Amusa, you took my post from my Facebook page and shared it as your own on Facebook and Instagram without giving me proper credit. Please do the right thing and acknowledge my work. It’s important to respect and credit the original creator.”
The post in question was made during the ongoing controversy surrounding Asake’s father, who alleged that the singer had abandoned him despite suffering a stroke since 2022. The father also claimed that Asake had neglected his alleged baby mama and daughter, Zinat.
In her original post, Ijewere reflected on Asake’s personal struggles, stating:
“Some wounds cannot be healed by money, fame, or influence. True healing requires conscious effort from within… Rather than judge, I choose to send light and love to this incredible artist.”
Shortly after, Amusa shared a post with similar sentiments, writing:
“When Asake covered his face in tattoos, I once remarked that he was either rebranding or masking a pain he wasn’t ready to confront… Fame doesn’t heal the wounds of parental rejection… Rather than judge, I choose to send love to this remarkable artist.”
Following Ijewere’s complaint, Amusa deleted the post from Facebook and edited her Instagram post, adding the hashtag #copied while disabling the comments section.
