Lil Nas X recently shared that he almost worked with Taylor Swift, but their collaboration ultimately fell through.
The Old Town Road sensation explained to E! News that Taylor had offered him a chance to feature on one of her songs, but the song’s “vibe” wasn’t quite right for him, so he declined the opportunity.
“We were working on something,” he shared. “She offered to let me try a verse on something, but I couldn’t catch a vibe for it, so it didn’t happen.”
While that particular song didn’t work out, Lil Nas X hopes to collaborate with the Shake It Off singer in the future, adding, “When it happens… Global. World. Tay-tay and Nassy.”
He noted that he is grateful Taylor thought about him for her song and has no hard feelings towards her about the failed collaboration.
“I’m proud of my girl,” Lil Nas X said. “I love the album. She’s been doing her thing. She’s at the very tippety top. I’m thankful that she even considered me.”
Throughout her successful career, Taylor Swift has collaborated with a variety of artists including Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, Future, Ice Spice, and Haim.
In her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, Taylor partnered with Post Malone on the song Fortnight and Florence and the Machine on the track Florida!!!.
