Post Malone has scored a legal victory in the ongoing custody battle over his three-year-old daughter, as his ex-girlfriend, Hee Sung “Jamie” Park, has withdrawn her California court petition seeking to relocate their child from Utah to Los Angeles.
The singer, whose real name is Austin Post, has been in a legal tug-of-war with Park since April over custody arrangements. Park had moved to California after their breakup in late 2023 and was seeking primary custody of their daughter there.
However, Post Malone opposed the move, arguing that their child had lived in Utah since birth and should remain there. In May, his legal team filed a motion to dismiss Park’s California petition, calling it a tactic of “gamesmanship.”
Earlier this week, Park officially dropped the California case with prejudice, which means she cannot refile it in the future. The custody proceedings will now continue exclusively in Utah — a significant win for Post.
In his May court filing, the singer claimed Park deliberately failed to inform the California court that Utah has always been the child’s primary residence.
Despite the legal battle, Post Malone emphasized his willingness to co-parent, writing:
“I do intend to work cooperatively with Jamie to ensure that [our daughter] has frequent and equal custodial time with her mother.”
