Comfort Emmanson, the passenger at the center of the viral Ibom Air incident, has appeared before the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) in Abuja as investigations into the altercation continue.
Confirming the development, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, stated that several directorates—including Aviation Security, Operations, Licensing and Training Standards, Legal, and Consumer Protection—are collaborating to ensure a fair and transparent process.
“Yesterday in Abuja, the NCAA team met with Julie Edwards and other Ibom Air crew members involved in the incident. Later today, Comfort Emmanson, accompanied by her lawyer, also met with the Authority,” Achimugu explained.
He added that the NCAA would provide continuous updates as the investigation unfolds.
The controversy, which was captured in a viral video, showed Emmanson in a heated altercation with airline staff at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos.
Although she was initially charged to court and placed on a lifetime no-fly ban by the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), the ban was later rescinded, and the case withdrawn.
