Former Sokoto State Governor and current Senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has declared that no one can erase the legacy of service he has built over his political career.
Speaking at his residence in Sokoto after being received by a large crowd of supporters, Tambuwal dismissed his recent questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), describing it as an attempt to pressure him into joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“What they failed to realize is that I cannot be intimidated, I cannot be blackmailed, and no one can tarnish my records that God has given me,” Tambuwal said.
He recalled his years of public service, beginning from 2003 when he became Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, later serving as Deputy Chief Whip in 2007, Speaker of the House in 2011, Governor of Sokoto State for eight years, and now Senator.
Tambuwal insisted that the ₦189 billion allegation against him was baseless, stressing that previous investigations by the Sokoto State government had cleared him of wrongdoing.
Turning to 2027, he said Nigerians are ready to reject the APC at the polls.
“We are determined. We are committed to democratic efforts, and we will join forces with all Nigerians to make sure that, by the grace of God, in 2027 we end this misrule and misgovernance in our country,” he said.
He accused the ruling party of implementing anti-people policies and worsening insecurity nationwide.
“Their policies are anti-people. They have no compassion, they have no human feelings,” he added.
The Senator assured his supporters that the opposition will remain resolute and vigilant.
“We will not allow any election to be rigged again. By 2027, Nigerians will make their voices heard, and with God on our side, we are headed for victory,” he declared.
