Controversial Nigerian activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has revealed that he advised singer Naira Marley to file a cyberbullying and defamation case against Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo over her role in linking him to the death of his former signee, Mohbad.
Speaking in a recent TikTok live video, VeryDarkMan disclosed that he and Naira Marley had strategically planned to confront Iyabo Ojo at the Lagos State Commissioner of Police’s office, aiming to hold her accountable for allegedly damaging the singer’s reputation and career.
However, VDM said he was shocked and disappointed when Naira Marley backed out of the plan and forgave Iyabo Ojo after she apologised in Yoruba at the police station.
“I told Naira Marley to detain Iyabo Ojo, but he said Allah will judge,” VeryDarkMan said.
“I told him to lose his cool the moment we entered the Commissioner’s office and explain how Iyabo Ojo’s defamatory remarks ruined his image. He agreed, but when Iyabo apologised in Yoruba, he immediately forgave her. I almost died where I was sitting.”

VeryDarkMan also claimed that music promoter SamLarry, who was also implicated in the Mohbad saga, objected strongly to Naira Marley’s decision to forgive the actress.
“When SamLarry saw that Naira Marley had accepted Iyabo’s apology, he protested. I was signalling Naira not to accept it because I knew Iyabo Ojo wouldn’t keep to her end of the agreement. SamLarry even shed tears,” he recounted.
Background
Iyabo Ojo was one of the most vocal public figures calling for justice following the tragic death of Mohbad in 2023. She consistently called out Naira Marley and SamLarry, accusing them of bullying and contributing to the late singer’s emotional distress — allegations both men have strongly denied.
While public sentiment initially turned against Naira Marley, he has since attempted to rebuild his image, although some fans and industry observers believe the damage may be irreparable.
