Singer Kizz Daniel has dismissed claims that a court froze his personal and business bank accounts over a contractual dispute.
On Wednesday, social media was flooded with reports alleging that the ‘Twe Twe’ hitmaker’s accounts had been frozen by court order. But in a swift response, the singer’s management issued a statement via Instagram, describing the claims as “false and malicious narrative … with the sole aim of discrediting our Artist.”
The statement read: “We state unequivocally that our Artist is a professional who upholds his contractual obligations and makes extraordinary sacrifices to ensure his fans worldwide enjoy his craft.”
Addressing the specific contract in question, the team explained: “By virtue of the duly executed Performance Agreement dated 27th July 2022, we were engaged to perform at the Afrobeats Meets Berlin concert on 24th September 2022.”
They alleged that the promoter, Kejuro Media & Entertainment, failed to meet key obligations, including the procurement of visas and flights for Kizz Daniel and his team, which led to the show’s cancellation.
“Any rescheduling can only be entertained on new terms,” the statement added. “In fact, by virtue of the signed Agreement, we are entitled to full payment in the event that such cancellation is at the instance of a breach by the Promoter.”
The dispute is tied to the 2022 cancelled Berlin concert, where promoters accused Kizz Daniel of collecting $50,000 without refund. Some reports also claimed a German court ordered him to pay $200,000 in damages, but his team insists no court has frozen his accounts.
This is not the first time the singer has faced controversy with event promoters. In 2022, he was arrested in Tanzania after failing to perform at a concert, a case that further fueled debates around his international bookings.
