Terry G Vows Never to Retire from Music

Terry G Claims He Made Smoking Cannabis

Veteran Afrobeats singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, better known as Terry G, has declared that he will never quit the music industry.

The 39-year-old, who made waves in the 2010s with his ghetto-inspired street-hop sound, said he would rather be seen as an up-and-coming artist than step away from the industry.

Responding to critics who accused him of clout-chasing on social media, Terry G wrote on X:

“I fully embrace being seen as an upcoming artist. You only become a legend when you retire—and I’m never retiring. So if you catch me chasing clout, let me be.”

Terry G’s Legacy in Afrobeats

The singer is widely remembered for shaping Nigeria’s street-hop movement, delivering back-to-back hits such as Free Madness, Sangalo, Akpako Master, and Run Mad. His eccentric style and high-energy performances made him one of the most talked-about artists of his era.
