The 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has said that President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi, is eligible to contest the Lagos governorship election in 2027.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Jandor noted that while Seyi Tinubu and others are qualified, they do not have the same level of experience he brings to the table.
“Okay, so all the names that you have mentioned, just like I said earlier, they are all qualified to be governor of Lagos. This includes Seyi himself, every one of them,” he said.
“And you’re not going to take anything away from no one. But from all of them that you have mentioned, aside from the former governor that you mentioned, none of them have actually been on the ballot as governorship candidates aside from myself.
“So I come with that experience. I come with the experience of somebody who has single-handedly gone through that process without any backing.”
Jandor’s comments came in response to a question on whether he stands a chance against potential contenders such as Seyi Tinubu, former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Senator Tokunbo Abiru, and others in the 2027 election.
