Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has slammed Nigerians flaunting the new iPhone 17 despite not owning basic necessities such as a car or stable accommodation.
In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the “Zazoo Zeh” crooner criticized those prioritizing luxury gadgets over essential needs, warning that many of the so-called iPhone 17 devices circulating are counterfeit imports.
According to Portable, many Nigerians have fallen victim to scammers selling fake versions of the yet-to-be-officially-released Apple device.
“You dey use iPhone 17, you no get four tyres, you go soon tire,” he said mockingly in Pidgin English.
“Una don bring thief, una don bring Chinese. They want to dupe you, una dey spoil people business.”
The outspoken artist further urged fans to focus on meaningful investments rather than wasting money on fake status symbols.
His remarks have since sparked mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians agreeing that misplaced priorities are a major societal problem, while others criticized him for being judgmental despite his own controversial lifestyle.
Portable, known for his outspoken and often polarizing opinions, has never shied away from addressing social issues in his unfiltered style.
