50 Cent has reached a settlement in the assault lawsuit brought against him earlier this year, putting an unexpected end to a case that had been building momentum.
The legal dispute began in January when photographer Guadalupe De Los Santos filed a civil lawsuit accusing the rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, of being involved in an incident that allegedly took place in September 2024.
According to the complaint, De Los Santos claimed he was intentionally knocked off his electric scooter by a member of Jackson’s entourage after approaching their vehicle following a book signing in Los Angeles.
De Los Santos sought monetary damages, while 50 Cent’s legal team firmly denied all allegations.
On Wednesday, People reported that the matter had been resolved. In a new motion filed this week, both parties confirmed they had “reached an agreement in principle to resolve all claims” and were “in the process of drafting and executing the formal settlement agreement”. The financial details of the settlement remain undisclosed.
The development arrives just weeks before the case was expected to head to court.
Meanwhile, Jackson continues to promote his latest project, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, where he serves as executive producer. Directed by Alexandria Stapleton, the four-part documentary explores Sean “Diddy” Combs’s rise to stardom, business empire, and eventual downfall.
In July, Combs was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, though he was acquitted of more serious charges including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. By October, he received a 50-month prison sentence.
Sean Combs: The Reckoning is set to stream on Netflix starting 2 December.
